Jalema BV, Dutch manufacturer of office supplies, and Van Scherpenzeel, Dutch specialist in recycling and destruction of all possible materials and products, have decided to join forces. In the future, recycled materials supplied by Van Scherpenzeel will be used for a specific selection of office supplies produced by Jalema. On Monday, 25th of June 2018 the agreement was signed by Joan Westendorff (owner Jalema BV) and Roger Beuting (Managing Director Van Scherpenzeel).

Good Collaboration

Nowadays, sustainability is important to almost every organisation. Jalema is proud to be able to contribute to this. For Jalema, it is therefore important to search for the most valuable partners to meet the expectations of its customers. Such partner is found in Van Scherpenzeel.

Van Scherpenzeel is specialist in recycling, upcycling and confidential destruction of all possible materials and products, such as plastic, paper, textiles, glass, dry residual waste and confidential material, and converting these into valuable raw materials. Van Scherpenzeel is a company that manages a wide range of raw material chains. They analyse waste flows and advise on the right approach for processing them. Van Scherpenzeel is part of Veolia Netherlands and employs over 650 employees.

Qualitative strong raw materials

The raw materials of Van Scherpenzeel that are used for the Jalema products, come from recycled plastic CD cases. Next to sustainability, quality is one of the key indicators for Jalema. That’s why Jalema has tested the quality of the raw materials extensively prior to the final agreement. As the results show, the recycled raw material is qualitatively comparable or even stronger than the material that is currently used for the Jalema products. Jalema is convinced that this agreement will add value to the organisation and is therefore proud to be able to enter into this cooperation and join the forces.
